Bat Swarm
Bat Swarm is a flying swarm enemy from Whisperwood in Castle Bonk, a free castle defense game for kids. It belongs to Whisperwood and first marches in on Day 9, “Flap Flap Flap”. After that it comes back on days 10–22 and 24–30.
One bat is small. Fifty bats is a very noisy cloud.

What it does
A pack flies in a loose sine-wave cloud (±60 px vertical), ignoring ground units, and nibbles the balcony (the wall HP pool). Targeted bats flutter erratically. Wind drifts the pack.
How to beat Bat Swarm
Archers volleys and multishot (the power fantasy moment), Stormcaller chain, and Ranger. Catapult, oil, and ground units can't reach it.
Best counters: Balcony Archers and Stormcaller.
Also works: Ranger.
Not great against it: Keep Catapult, Boiling Oil, Sunbell Cleric, Footman, Pikeman, Knight and Paladin.
- It flies, so marching troops cannot reach it. Archers, crossbows, storm magic, and rangers can.
- It comes in a crowd, so splash damage clears many at once.
- It wears no armor, so plain arrows do full damage.
Bat Swarm in the campaign
On Normal you'll face about 288 Bat Swarms over 21 days, spread across 25 waves. The biggest crowd comes on Day 9, with 30 of them. Harder difficulty levels send more of them, with more health; Easy sends fewer.
What it looks like
Round purple fuzzballs with big ears, tiny wings, and huge eyes, with one fang each. Gag: they fly in a heart shape for a split second when the pack spawns, and bats that get hit spin around like a whirligig before poofing.
The elite version
A single elite bat leads the pack. While it lives, the pack regroups instantly when scattered.
