What it does

A goblin runs in carrying a lit keg on his back. On reaching the wall, BOOM: 60 wall damage, and units within 120 px are "dazed" (knocked back, 1 s). If killed in the field, the keg explodes where he stands, dealing 40 damage to enemies within 140 px (the friendly-fire lesson). Frost puts out the fuse, making it a dud that only poofs. Fire detonates it instantly.

How to beat Powder Keg Goblin

Archers (kill it early, ideally inside a crowd), Crossbow Tower, Cryomancer (dud), Pyromancer (early detonation), and Ranger. Melee units get dazed. Boiling Oil fires too late.

Best counters: Balcony Archers and Cryomancer.

Also works: Crossbow Tower, Keep Catapult, Pyromancer, Stormcaller and Ranger.

Not great against it: Boiling Oil, Footman, Pikeman, Knight and Paladin.

  • It wears no armor, so plain arrows do full damage.

On Normal you'll face about 62 Powder Keg Goblins over 11 days, spread across 16 waves. The biggest crowd comes on Day 21, with 8 of them. Harder difficulty levels send more of them, with more health; Easy sends fewer.

What it looks like

A lanky goblin in welder goggles, with a keg bigger than he is strapped to his back and a sparking fuse. He runs with a panicked expression. Gag: he keeps trying to blow out the fuse and failing.

The elite version

Two kegs, doubling the wall blast, and the field blast radius is 200 px.
