Mushroom Shaman
Mushroom Shaman is a support: heals enemy from Whisperwood in Castle Bonk, a free castle defense game for kids. It belongs to Whisperwood and first marches in on Day 8, “Glowcaps in the Mist”. After that it comes back on days 12, 14, 16–25 and 29.
Mushroom Shamans heal their friends with a puff of spores. Achoo!

What it does
It stays behind the pack (follows the second-closest enemy and holds at a 650 px standoff). Every 3 s it pulses a green spore ring (radius 160 px) that heals allies for 4 HP each. There's a 0.6 s telegraph of the staff glowing and mushroom caps puffing. It never heals itself or bosses by more than 1%/pulse. With no allies alive it walks to the wall.
How to beat Mushroom Shaman
Focus it with Balcony Archers (priority), Ranger (skirmishers target support first), Knight charges, and Pyromancer (spores are flammable, dealing +25%, proposed).
Best counters: Pyromancer, Knight and Ranger.
Also works: Balcony Archers, Crossbow Tower, Keep Catapult, Stormcaller and Paladin.
Not great against it: Boiling Oil.
- It wears no armor, so plain arrows do full damage.
- It helps the other baddies, so take it out first.
Mushroom Shaman in the campaign
On Normal you'll face about 24 Mushroom Shamans over 14 days, spread across 16 waves. The biggest crowd comes on Day 8, with 3 of them. Harder difficulty levels send more of them, with more health; Easy sends fewer.
What it looks like
A hunched little goblin wearing a giant red-with-white-spots mushroom cap as a hat, with a staff topped by a glowing puffball, a leaf poncho, and glowing firefly bugs orbiting. It glows through fog. Gag: each heal pulse makes it sneeze spores. Big pulses blow the hat up like a parachute.
The elite version
Its pulse also gives allies a 10 HP spore shield for 3 s.
