Slinger
Slinger is a ranged enemy from Meadowvale in Castle Bonk, a free castle defense game for kids. It belongs to Meadowvale and first marches in on Day 4, “Puddle Parade”. After that it comes back on days 5–17 and 19–30. A golden elite version shows up on Day 21.
Slingers practice every day. They still mostly hit each other.

What it does
It walks to a standoff of 520 px from the wall and stops. It whirls its sling for 0.8 s (the telegraph) and lobs a pebble at the wall every 2 s for 5 damage. It never enters oil range. If a knight or footman reaches it, it switches to a weak slap (0.5×).
How to beat Slinger
Archers (a stationary target is easy), Knight (charges out and bonks it), and Ranger.
Best counters: Balcony Archers, Knight and Ranger.
Also works: Crossbow Tower, Keep Catapult, Pyromancer, Stormcaller, Footman and Paladin.
Not great against it: Boiling Oil.
- It wears no armor, so plain arrows do full damage.
- It stops and attacks from far away, which makes it a still, easy target.
Slinger in the campaign
On Normal you'll face about 120 Slingers over 26 days, spread across 27 waves. The biggest crowd comes on Day 15, with 10 of them. Harder difficulty levels send more of them, with more health; Easy sends fewer.
What it looks like
A short goblin with a huge slouch hat, a pouch of pebbles bulging on the hip, and a long leather sling. Gag: sometimes (1 in 8 throws) the pebble drops on his own head: "bonk", a daze of 1 s, and stars.
The elite version
Throws a triple pebble spread every 3 s for 3×4 damage.
