Shieldbonk Goblin
Shieldbonk Goblin is a shielded enemy from Meadowvale in Castle Bonk, a free castle defense game for kids. It belongs to Meadowvale and first marches in on Day 3, “Door Day”. After that it comes back on days 4–27 and 29. A golden elite version shows up on days 9, 11, 15 and 21.
Their shields are old pot lids. Arrows that fall from above go right over them!

What it does
It holds a wooden door-shield forward. Low, flat arrows from the front go clonk and do 0 damage. Arrows that come down at a steep angle (above about 35° descent) hit, and so do bolts and blunt damage. At the wall he lowers the shield to bonk, which exposes him.
How to beat Shieldbonk Goblin
Lob arrows high (it teaches arc aiming), Crossbow Tower (armor-piercing bolts ignore the shield), Keep Catapult, Boiling Oil at the wall, and Knight knockback.
Best counters: Crossbow Tower, Boiling Oil and Knight.
Also works: Keep Catapult, Pyromancer, Stormcaller, Footman and Pikeman.
- Its shield blocks flat shots from the front. Lob arrows high so they drop on top, or bring crossbow bolts.
Shieldbonk Goblin in the campaign
On Normal you'll face about 138 Shieldbonk Goblins over 26 days, spread across 34 waves. The biggest crowd comes on Day 15, with 11 of them. Harder difficulty levels send more of them, with more health; Easy sends fewer.
What it looks like
A stocky goblin behind a round wooden shield made from a tavern door, with its knocker still attached, and a colander helmet. Gag: when arrows stick in the shield it looks like a hedgehog, and he proudly shows it off.
The elite version
An iron-banded tower shield that also blocks the first lobbed arrow each 4 s.
